Florence has the highest concentration of masterpieces and people working in heritage conservation in the world and it provides the best opportunties to acquire and perfect knowledge and skills for the protection of cultural heritage.
For over 35 years the Institute has held summer courses in its laboratories in July and September for students who are interested in doing practical courses. The summer courses are taught by the same professors as the three-year academic courses.
Thanks to an important collaboration between Confartigianato Imprese Firenze, the Egyptian Museum in Florence and Palazzo Spinelli, the first short course on Restoration of Egyptian Polychrome Painted Wooden Artefacts is being launched with sector experts Prof. Giuseppe Venturini and Dott.ssa Maria Cristina Guidotti, who will give students ta theoretical introduction to various aspects of Ancient Egyptian civilisation and take a close look at the state of conservation and the restoration of some Egyptian wooden artefacts.

From Monday to Friday every afternoon from 14 to 18 for a total of 40 hours.
The course will be held at Palazzo Ridofli in Via Maggio, 13 in Florence.
The course is open to Italian and international applicants. The course is taught in Italian. No previous experience in the sector is necessary.
International students should have pre intermediate knowledge of the language (A2 CEF).
A certificate of attendance will be issued to students at the end of the course.
To enrol on the course students must send the following documents to the Secretariat of the Institute for Art and Restoration:
1. Enrolment Form
2. Amministrative Regulations (signed and dated)
3. A copy of the payment receipt or bank transfer for the full course fee
4. A photocopy of an ID document

Students are advised to enrol at least two weeks before the course start date. Enrolments are accepted depending on the availability of places on the course.
