Sara Mittica
Museums Collections Management, Registration and Exhibitions
Sara has held a range of senior and specialist Registrar roles across leading UK institutions, including the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Government Art Collection, as well as across university museum collections at University College London. She trained in collections care and conservation at the Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro – Palazzo Spinelli in Florence, and has contributed to sector initiatives through her involvement with the UK Registrars Group and as Programme Lead for the 2018 European Registrars Conference in London.
She currently leads a newly centralised national team at English Heritage, delivering collections management across a diverse portfolio of around 400 historic sites. In this role, she is responsible for strategic direction, team development, and embedding consistent standards and practices across the organisation.
Sara holds a Master’s degree in Museum Studies from University College London, as well as postgraduate diplomas in Law and Collections Management and Intellectual Property and Collections, reflecting her strong professional focus on governance, legal frameworks, and ethical practice in collections management.
