Abstract:
When involved with the Conservation and Repair of Historic Buildings an essential prerequisite to any operation is to thoroughly understand the buildings construction and condition. From this basis a fully designed and detailed Conservation Plan can be adopted for the appropriate care and management of the building and its fabric .
This factor is nowhere more relevant  then when dealing with Historic Buildings which have been externally plastered. This paper attempts to establish as general guidance a selection of standard procedures of Good Practice in the areas of Surveying and Inspection for those who may find themselves involved in the necessary Repair , Conservation or Restoration of Architecturally Plastered Buildings.
